1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

When you use IdeaExam, you may submit a description of a business or product idea. We process and store this information in order to generate and provide your IdeaExam report.

Please do not include sensitive personal information, passwords, financial account information, health information, or other confidential personal data in an idea submission.

Payment information

If you purchase a full report, payment is processed by Stripe. IdeaExam does not directly receive or store your full credit card number or card security code.

We may receive and store payment-related information from Stripe, such as a checkout session identifier, payment identifier, payment status, and transaction-related metadata necessary to provide access to your purchase and maintain transaction records.

Technical information

When you access IdeaExam, we may process technical information such as your IP address, request information, timestamps, browser or device information, and security-related logs. We use this information to operate the service, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, diagnose problems, and protect IdeaExam.

2. How We Use Information

We use information collected through IdeaExam to:

• analyze the business idea you submit;
• generate and store your IdeaExam report;
• provide access to free and purchased reports;
• process and verify purchases;
• maintain and improve the reliability of the service;
• prevent fraud, misuse, and automated abuse;
• troubleshoot technical problems;
• respond to support and privacy requests; and
• comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Artificial Intelligence Processing

IdeaExam uses artificial intelligence services provided by OpenAI to process submitted ideas and generate parts of the analysis and report. Information contained in your idea submission may therefore be transmitted to and processed by OpenAI for the purpose of generating your analysis.

IdeaExam uses OpenAI's API rather than the consumer ChatGPT service. According to OpenAI's current API data policies, API inputs and outputs are not used to train OpenAI models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in.

OpenAI may retain certain API data for limited periods for abuse monitoring, security, or legal purposes according to its applicable policies. AI-generated analysis can contain errors, incomplete information, or inaccurate conclusions. You should not include sensitive personal information in your submission.

4. Service Providers and International Processing

IdeaExam uses third-party service providers to operate the service. These may include:

• OpenAI — artificial intelligence processing;
• Stripe — payment processing;
• Google Analytics — website analytics and usage measurement;
• hosting and infrastructure providers used to operate IdeaExam.

These providers may process information outside Canada, including in the United States or other jurisdictions in which they or their service providers operate. When information is processed in another jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, governments, or law-enforcement authorities as permitted by applicable law.

We authorize service providers to process information only for purposes connected with providing and operating IdeaExam, subject to their applicable agreements and privacy practices.

5. Storage and Retention

IdeaExam stores submitted ideas, generated analyses, generated reports, payment status, and related service data as necessary to provide persistent report links and operate the service.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing purchased reports, maintaining transaction records, preventing abuse, resolving disputes, and satisfying legal obligations.

If you would like to request deletion of information associated with a report, contact support@ideaexam.com and include the report link or other information that allows us to identify the relevant record.

Some information may need to be retained where required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, or legitimate record-keeping purposes.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no internet service or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Your Choices and Privacy Requests

You may contact us to request information about personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, or request deletion where applicable.

To make a privacy request, contact support@ideaexam.com. We may need to verify your request before providing, changing, or deleting information. Certain information may be retained where permitted or required by applicable law.

8. Cookies and Analytics

IdeaExam uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the website and how users move through key parts of the service. This may include information such as page views, session and device information, approximate location derived from network information, and interactions with features such as starting an idea analysis, viewing a free report, and beginning checkout.

Google Analytics may use cookies, device or browser identifiers, and similar technologies to collect and process analytics information. Analytics data is used to measure website performance, understand product usage, diagnose issues, and improve IdeaExam.

Information collected through Google Analytics may be processed by Google and its service providers in jurisdictions outside your country of residence. Google's handling of this information is subject to its applicable privacy terms and policies.

IdeaExam may also use local storage or similar browser technologies for service functionality, such as preventing duplicate analytics events for the same report or purchase.

9. Children's Privacy

IdeaExam is not designed to collect sensitive personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information that should be removed, contact support@ideaexam.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as IdeaExam changes. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
